Three soldiers injured in Kashmir attack

Srinagar, Dec 29 (IBNS) : Three army jawans were injured in a fierce shootout with militants in the Shahgund area of Kashmir's Bandipora district early on Thursday.

Army officials said that the  militants opened fire when security forces  were laying a cordon in the Gulshanpora mohalla for a search operation.

The injured were immediately shifted to a health facility where the condition of one of them, who has bullet injuries on the chest, is stated to be critical.

Sources said that the  militants managed to escape.

“Search operation is on in the area, and we hope the  militants will be eliminate soon,” an army official said.
