Three civilians killed, 20 injured in Pak ceasefire violation

Jamuu, Aug 28 (IBNS) At least three civilians, including a woman, were killed and more than r 20 others injured in heavy shelling by Pakistani Rangers in India-administered border region of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, officials said.

According to Border Security Forces officials,  Pakistani Rangers started heavy firing in R S Pura and Arnia sectors since 1 am on Friday resulting in civilian casualties.

BSF jawans also retaliated engaging the Pak troops in an exchange of fire which is still on.

Subhash Chander, 45, and Bimla Devi, 42, both residents of Sai Khurd village, and Pawan Kumar, 55, who lived in Abdullian village, are those killed. The injured have been shifted to a hospital.

Reports said that Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Nirmal Singh, will  visit  RS Pura sector on Friday

Earlier this month, at least nine civilians were killed and scores injured in ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
