There is dispute in Government, not in family : UP CM Akhilesh Yadav on differences with uncle Shivpal

Lucknow, Sept 14 (IBNS) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday his differences with uncle Shivpal Yadav was only a "dispute in the Government" and not in the family, NDTV reported

The comment came a day after he stripped Shivpal Yadav of most of the ministerial portfolios hours after party supremo  Mulayam Singh Yadav replaced son Akhilesh with brother Shivpal as the party chief in UP.

The move Akhilesh has taken seems to have put him in confrontation with his father.

Shivpal will meet Mulayam Singh in Delhi on Wednesday.

However, the 44-year-old CM seemed to be in a defiant mood as NDTV quoted him as saying :  "I take some decisions, Neta jitakes others. I don't consult anyone for my decisions."

He said outsiders were meddling in party affairs.

Earlier in the morning, Shivpal Yadav had said that he would follow the decisions of the party and continue to work assigned to him.

"I will take forward the responsibility that has been given to me by Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav). I am with the people of Uttar Prdaesh, Samajwadi Party and Netaji," media reports quoted him as saying at the Yadavs' native village Saifai in Etwah district.

" Whatever decision Netaji will take, I will support it. I will carry out the party's work and will stay among the people. The election is nearby and I am sure that the people of Uttar Pradeshwill support the Samajwadi Party," Shivapal  said.

"No one has the temerity to go against what Netaji says," he added.

The 61-year-old SP leader, however, said it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to assign or take away portfolios from anybody.

Meanwhile, reports said, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has  cancelled his official engagements in Lucknow for the day.
