Telengana : Naxalite-turned-gangster Nayeemuddin shot dead in encounter

Shadnagar, Telengana, Aug 8 (IBNS) : Naxalite-turned-gangster Nayeemuddin was shot dead in an operation jointly conducted by Telengana police and at National Investigation Agency (NIA) about 60 km off Hyderabad on Monday, reports said.

The encounter took place at  his millennium colony house in Shadnagar following a tip-off that police received.

Reports quoted  DGP Anurag Sharma as saying that  Nayeemuddin’s gang member opened fire on police officials leading to a gun battle after the cops surrounded the house late on Sunday night.

Nayeemuddin was involved in extortion cases and was an accused in the murder of IPS officer NS Vyas, who was in charge of anti-naxal operations.

Nayeemuddin is a  former member of the People’s War Group. He is also involved in over 20 murder cases.
