A Telangana YoutTuber has triggered a controversy and landed himself in trouble after he posted a video on the social media platform where he could be seen preparing peacock curry.

The incident happened in Rajanna Sircilla district of the state.

The YouTuber was identified as Kodam Pranay Kumar.

The video went viral and triggered an outrage with people criticising the man for promoting illegal wildlife consumption.

The forest department arrested Kumar and inspected the area where he cooked the 'peacock curry' and shot the video. Kumar is facing charges under the Wildlife Protection Act, reported India Today.

The video has been taken down from the page after it sparked the controversy.

Authorities have collected samples of the food for forensic inspection.

Sircilla Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan said a case has been registered against the accused YouTuber.

Mahajan told the Indian news channel: " A case was registered under relevant sections and strictest action would be taken against him and anyone else doing such activities."
