Hyderabad/IBNS: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA T Raja Singh was Tuesday arrested over his alleged derogatory comment on Prophet Muhammad, media reports said.

Singh was arrested after massive protests demanding action against him broke out in Hyderabad last night.

A case was filed under sections of the law related to the insult of religious beliefs.

Singh had allegedly made the remark on the Prophet in a 10-minute video, which he referred to as a "comedy" like stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui's alleged remark on Hindu gods.

Singh is an MLA from the Goshamahal constituency in Hyderabad.
