Target for making economy USD 5 trillion commendable: Nitish Kumar

Patna, Jul 5 (UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today welcomed union budget 2019-20 presented by union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha and applauded Narendra Modi government for setting the goal of making the country`s economy USD 5 trillion.

In his reaction to the first budget of Narendra Modi government`s second tenure, Kumar welcomed announcement of ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme in the budget for the entire country.

He said it was a matter of happiness ‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal’ scheme was already being implemented in Bihar under the seven-point resolve.

The Chief Minister said the Centre`s initiative for encouraging use of electric vehicles was in the interest of environment. Similarly, proposal for implementation of solid waste management in rural area by extending reach of Swachh Bharat Mission is also appreciable, he said while also welcoming the proposals for water conservation.

Kumar said that the union budget had proposal for arranging fund through public-private partnership for completing railway projects but government had to take care the new step did not send a message that railway would be privatised.
