Tamil Nadu: MK Stalin takes dig at Guv, accuses Raj Bhavan of functioning like BJP office

Chennai/UNI: Amid differences between the ruling DMK and the Raj Bhavan over a host of issues, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin alleged that Governor R.N.Ravi was acting like a BJP functionary and that Raj Bhavan is like functioning as a saffron office.

Talking to reporters on Monday, he said the Governor's remarks and actions gave the impression that he was a functionary of the party and that the Raj Bhavan was functioning like the BJP office.

Alleging that the Governor’s office had been issuing factually incorrect statements on many issues, the Chief Minister, when asked about the hurling of petrol bombs at the gates of Raj Bhavan a couple of days back, said the bomb was not hurled inside the Raj Bhavan and it only fell on the road.

The State police have issued a comprehensive clarification on the action taken over the incident, and proved with CCTV footage from the area.

However, on the contrary, the Governor’s office had issued a statement giving the impression that the petrol bomb was hurled at the Raj Bhavan. “It had fallen on the road,” he pointed out.

Asserting that police had acted swiftly and took action against the culprit, Mr Stalin assured that there would be no compromise on the maintenance of law and order in the State.

“When such is the case, the statements given by the Raj Bhavan on every issue are not only wrong, but also incorrect,” the Chief Minister said, justifying his claim of Raj Bhavan acting as the BJP’s office.
