Synod demands action against 'love jihad'

Kochi/UNI:  Syro Malabar Synod on Wednesday demanded action against 'Love Jihad' as he alleged that girls belonging to Christian community are being murdered by them nowadays in Kerala.

The Synod condoled the death of a girl who was killed recently. The church also expressed concern over love jihad in Kerala and opined that it will affect the communal harmony and peace of the state.

Among the 21 people who were recruited to Islamic State, half were converted from Christianity. The synod also noted complaints on forced religious conversion of girls over love affair, sources said on Wednesday.

The synod said religious conversion is a social issue apart from a religious matter. He also expressed concern over the increasing violence against Christians across the globe.
