Swami Ramdev backs Modi's move to abolish Rs 500, Rs 1000 currency notes

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IBNS): Calling it a 'strong step', yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Wednesday backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government's move to discontinue use of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 Indian currency notes.

"Strong step by @narendramodi sarakar on #Rs500andRs1000 notes, will help boast government exchequer, which can be used for pro-poor prgms," Swami Ramdev tweeted.

"Strong step by modi sarakar on #Rs500andRs1000 notes 'll choke the funding for terror, naxalism, economic offecnces & political improperity," he said.

In a bold step to curb the usage of fake Indian currency and combat the issue of black money, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes will cease to be legal from Tuesday midnight.
