Suspected Maoists destroy BJP office in Palamu by bomb blast

Daltonganj, Apr 26 (UNI) Suspected ultras belonging to the proscribed CPI (Maoists) have destroyed the BJP office located at the old bus stand under Harihargunj Police Station area of the Palamu district by executing a bomb blast.

Police on Friday said that around midnight the Maoists executed the blast and after indulging in slogan shouting they fled towards Bihar as Harihargunj is located on the bordering areas of Jharkhand and Bihar.

Locals said that the election office of the BJP was being run from a double storey house located on the NH-98 near the old bus stand. The police station from the bomb blast site is around 400 meters only. Election in Palamu will take place on April 29.
