Sushma Swaraj: Government making all efforts to bring back Father Tom

New Delhi, Jul 20 (IBNS): Government is taking all steps to bring back Malayalee priest Father Tom safely, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as a purported video of kidnapped Father Tom being tortured by the ISIS cropped up on social media, according to media reports.

She said, "We are in touch with the countries which can assist us in locating him not only at my level, but the Prime Minister himself held discussions during his visits. We are making continuous efforts to locate Father Tom," the media reported.

Sushma Swaraj also said that the post on social media will also be verified.

Catholic priest Father Tom Uzhunnalil was abducted by the Islamic State militants in Yemen about four months ago. He is from Kerala.
