Sushma Swaraj commences Thailand visit

Bangkok, June 27 (IBNS) External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj commenced her two-day visit to Thailand from Saturday.

She interacted  with Indian community in Bangkok.

"EAM @SushmaSwaraj urges Indian community in Thailand to contribute to the progress & development of India,"   MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

During the trip she will co-chair the 7th Meeting of India-Thailand Joint Commission (JCM) and to attend the 16thWorld Sanskrit Conference in Bangkok.

"During the visit, EAM is expected to call on the Thai leadership and co-chair the JCM with Gen Tanasak Patimapragorn Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand on 29 June 2015. The JCM will review the progress of the bilateral relationship in its totality," the MEA said in a statement.

EAM is expected to interact with various Indian Associations, business leaders and academics.

This is the first high level bilateral visit from India after the formation of new governments in both countries.
