Students in UP district schools fall sick from sugar mill chemical gas emission
Lucknow, Oct 10 (IBNS): Nearly 300 students of two schools fell unconscious after chemical gas emitted by a sugar mill in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday, according to media reports.
The children complained of eyes watering, nausea, vomiting, and itching, local reports said.
According to the police, the children were taken to the district hospital and also referred to hospitals in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut.
As news of the accident spread, the District Magistrate and other senior officials rushed to the school, media reported.
