STF arrests four on the charge of storing huge quantity of illegal chromites and coal

Bhubaneswar/UNI: The sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) have arrested four people from Bhadrak District Police on charges of cargo theft and illegal storage of coal and chromite.

STF sources here on Friday said a raid was conducted on the stockyard run by Bijay Shankar Mohanty, one of the accused, with the help of Bhadrak District Police on the intervening night of January 18 and 19 last at Puripada, under Bhandaripokhari Police station of Bhadrak and arrested the accused.

STF identified the accused as Bijaya Shankar Mohanty, Biswajit Nayak, Amar Sahoo and Anil Sethi.

During the raid, the STF seized 330 tonnes of Chromites, 15 tonnes Coal, two 20 Wheeler Truck, One JCB Machine, One Tractor and other incriminating materials.

The accused are being forwarded to the court of JMFC- II, Bhadrak.

In this connection a case U/s. 379/411/120(B) IPC r/w. 21 MMDR Act,1957 has been registered.

The investigation is on.
