State-run home in Delhi turns into house of horror for teenage girls

New Delhi, May 1 (IBNS) : At least ten teenage girls in a state-run home in Delhi have accused its staff of molestation, forcibly pushing them growth injections and torturing them, media reports said.

The Government home is for providing a safe place for girls and women  who are  rape survivors, victims of human trafficking or who are from streets with nobody to look after.

But what was supposed to be a safe haven, turned into a house of horror.

According to reports, at least two girls have  alleged to the police that they were molested by the officials.

Another girl has alleged that she was starved for days as she had complained against a staff member for torturing her.

The girls have also  accused the officials of injecting medicines meant for causing premature growth.

An FIR was registered by the police after which the officials were charged with criminal intimidation, causing harm by poisoning, criminal conspiracy and laws under the juvenile justice care and protection act.
