Kolkata/UNI: A city court on Wednesday extended by two days the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and his alleged aide Arpita Mukherjee, arrested in connection with the state school service commission (SSC) scam.

The Bankshal Court judge in a fresh order directed that the duo would remain under ED custody till Aug 5, when they would again be produced before the court.

The former minister and the model-actress have been under ED custody since their arrest on July 23.

Meanwhile, the ED, probing the money trail in the alleged SSC scam that relates to the illegal recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff of primary and secondary government-aided schools, found new evidence of unaccounted moveable and immoveable property after they raided some houses at Santiniketan in Birbhum district on Wednesday, sources said.

The ED sleuths searched three bungalows in Birbhum district's Santiniketan area under Bolpur town during the day and recovered new bank documents in Mukherjee's name from one of them.

The sources claimed the ED sleuths came across a company Apa Utility Services in which both Chatterjee and Mukherjee have a 50 per cent share.
