Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa wishes India on Republic Day

Colombo: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa greeted Indian government on Tuesday on Republic Day.

"On behalf of the #GoSL and people of #SriLanka I extend my warmest wishes to PM @narendramodi and the people of #India on the occasion of the 72nd #RepublicDay . May you go from strength to strength as a nation, & be victorious in every challenge faced," the Sri Lankan PM tweeted.

India celebrated Republic Day on Tuesday.

The main event was held in New Delhi.

It was held amid restrictions due to COVID-19.
