Sri Lanka PM Rajapaksa offers worship to lord Venkateswara

Tirumala/UNI: Sri Lanka Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa offered worship to Lord Venkateswara Swamy here on Tuesday.

An ardent Srivari devotee, Mr Rajapaksa, dressed in traditional attire and accompanied by his son Yoshita Rajapaksa and Cabinet Minister Arumugan Thondaman had darshan of the Lord during Astadala Pada Padmaradhana at VIP break this morning.

Earlier on his arrival at the entrance of the temple, he was welcomed by Andhra Pradesh Minister P Ramachandra Reddy, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal and Additional Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy.

After darshan, the Veda pundits offered 'Veda Ashirvachanam' to Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa at Ranganayukala Mandapam. He was later presented theertha prasadams.

Tight security arrangements have been made here in view of the visit of Sri Lanka Prime Minister.
