Special train for migrants to run from Bhiwandi to Gorakhpur tonight

Thane/UNI: A special train for the stranded people will be run from Bhiwandi Road railway station in the district to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night.

Deputy Commissioner of police Bhiwandi Rajkumar Shinde said only the residents of Gorakhpur and possess Aadhar card from the district would be allowed to travel in this point-to-point train.

He has asked the corporators of each ward in Bhiwandi to prepare the list of those wanting to return to their hometown in UP.

Among the groups of passengers, one person in each group will act as a group leaderof about a dozen, who will complete the formalities with the police and the Health department.

Local MLA Rais Shaikh said that the train, carrying only 1,200 passengers, will depart from Bhiwandi Road station tonight at around 2300 hours.

He has asked the people not to rush to the Bhiwandi Road railway station and said that they will receive information from time to time.

Similar trains will be operated for other stations in due course of time, the MLA added.
