Kolkata, Dec 14 (IBNS): As India moves towards a cashless society, Government of India on Wednesday said it has taken a number of initiatives to encourage the transformation.

As a part of these initiatives, the Ministry of Finance has announced to incentivize petrol or diesel transactions at PSU petrol pumps by way of 0.75 percent discount when the purchase is made digitally by using Debit or Credit cards, Mobile Wallets and Prepaid Loyalty Cards among others.

The decision has come into effect from 13.12.2016, 00.00 hrs.

The amount of discount will be credited to customer’s own account by way of cash back within three working days of the transaction, assures a press release by the Indian Oil.
