Sonia Gandhi is a lioness: Scindia

New Delhi, May 6 (IBNS): Making a speech in the Parliament on the AgustaWestland scam, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday said party Supremo Sonia Gandhi is a lioness and the BJP is afraid of her.

Scindia said the Congress supremo's name did not feature in any authenticated document connected  to the AgustaWestland deal.

"Sonia Gandhi is a lioness. You are afraid of her.," Scindia said as he hit out at the ruling party for targeting Gandhi over the issue.

The Supreme Court on Friday  issued a notice to the Centre  on a petition seeking registration of an FIR against all the people named in an Italian court judgement in the controversial AgustaWestland chopper deal, reports said.

A bench comprising Justices Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh issued notice on the PIL that sought a court-monitored probe in the case.

The PIL was filed  last week by advocate ML Sharma.

It sought lodging of FIR against political leaders, including Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, whose names have allegedly been mentioned in the Ialian court's judgement.

CBI had in 2013 registered a case in connection with alleged bribes paid by the firm to Indians get the deal for supplying 12 helicopters for VVIPs.
