Sok Divas observes at Assam secretariat

Guwahati, Aug 16 (IBNS) : The Secretariat Administration Department of the Government of Assam has observed Sok Divas on Tuesday in front of Block –‘A’ of Assam Secretariat to mourn the death of the innocent children and other persons killed in a bomb blast while attending the Independence Day celebration at Dhemaji in the year 2004.

Sanjeeva Kumar, Principal Secretary, Environment & Forest Department, Assam had administered the pledge taking ceremony of Sok Divas among the officers and staffs against all acts of terrorism and militant violence.

Earlier, one minute silence had been observed in memory of the children and other persons who lost their lives in Dhemaji Massacre and other victims of militant violence. Smt. T Y. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Assam and other senior officers and staffs of the Assam Secretariat were present and participated in the pledge taking ceremony of Sok Divas.
