Singer Ankit Tiwari arrested for rape

Mumbai, May 8 (IBNS) Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari was arrested on Thursday in Mumbai for allegedly raping his friend, said reports.

The Mumbai Police also arrested Ankit’s brother Ankur Tiwari in the case.

They were arrested after the 28-year-old victim lodged a complaint at the Versova police station.

The girl said the two brothers visited her house on Wednesday and allegedly raped her on knife point.

Ankit shot to fame with his song "Sunn Raha Hai" in 2013 hit film,Aashiqui 2.

He has also composed music for films like Do Dooni Chaar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster.
