Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi: Allahabad High Court orders survey of the Shahi Idgah complex

Prayagraj (UP): The Allahabad High Court on Thursday granted permission for the initial survey of the Shahi Idgah complex, located next to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura.

A court-monitored team consisting of three advocate commissioners will conduct the survey, India Today reported.

The specific details of the survey will be determined on December 18, during the next court session, it said .

"Our application, where we demanded a survey of Shahi Idgah Masjid by an advocate commissioner, has been approved by the Allahabad High Court," said Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer for the Hindu side, according to the report.

Justice Mayank Kumar Jain had previously reserved the order on the application on November 16.

The Hindu party contends that the Idgah mosque was built by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb after demolishing a temple on 13.37 acres of Lord Krishna's birthplace. This ongoing legal case is currently awaiting resolution in the High Court.

The High Court has a total of 17 pending suits, with the primary requests seeking a declaration that the disputed land, where the Shahi Eidgah Mosque is situated, is the property of the deity Lord Shri Krishna Virajman.

The plaintiffs are seeking a directive for the defendant to remove the mosque.
