Sharad Pawar praises key quality in PM Modi's style of working, says Manmohan Singh lacked it

Pune/IBNS: NCP chief Sharad Pawar has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's style of working, underscoring that once he takes up any job, he ensures its completion, media reports said.

Pawar was speaking at a function organized by Marathi daily 'Loksatta'  in Maharashtra's Pune.

He said PM Modi makes a lot of effort and devotes sufficient time to get things done.

"His temperament is such that once he takes up any task in hand, he will make sure that he will not stop till the time it (the task) reaches its conclusion. He has a good hold on administration and that is his strong side," said the Rajya Sabha member, Pawar was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party is part of Maharashtra's ruling coalition Maha Vikas Aghadi which is an alliance between BJP's former long term ally Shiv Sena and arch rival Congress.

His response was in respect to a question about the changes he has observed in PM Modi as a leader in all these years.

The NCP president said if the decisions taken by the government are not in sync with the aspirations of the masses then hard work wouldn't be enough and  end results cannot be overlooked.

"On this aspect, I see a lacuna," he said, PTI reported.

He said PM Modi gives importance to how the administration and his colleagues can come together to see that the government policies are implemented effectively.

Pawar, who is also a former Union minister, said PM Modi has a different way of taking his colleagues along and that style was missing in the past prime ministers like Manmohan Singh.

Asked about the action taken by the central agencies against some ministers of Maharashtra government and if he ever wanted to raise the issue with the PM, Pawar said he has never spoken to PM Modi about the matter in the past and will never do so in the future as well.
