Shah Rukh Khan was victimised: Mamata Banerjee attacking BJP in Mumbai

Mumbai/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday referred to an alleged victimisation of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan while attacking the country's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in front of civil society members here.

"Mahesh ji (film director Mahesh Bhatt), you have been victimised, Shah Rukh Khan has also been victimised. If we have to win, we have to fight and speak out wherever you can. You guide us and give us advice as a political party," Banerjee said during her Mumbai trip.

"India loves manpower not muscle power. We are facing a cruel undemocratic party, the BJP. If we are together, we will win," the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo added.

The TMC chief referred to the arrest of Khan's 23-year-old son Aryan Khan in a drug case which had kept the star kid in jail for almost a month.

As per media reports, no drug was found with Aryan, who is now on bail.

Banerjee is undertaking trips to various states in a bid to expand her TMC beyond West Bengal, where her party decimated the BJP in the 2021 assembly elections.
