Los Angeles, Aug 12 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was detained by US immigration department officials at the Los Angeles airport on Friday, the incident occurring again after similar detentions before even as the US ambassador to India apologied for the inconvenience.

Reacting to the detention, the 50-year-old actor tweeted: "I fully understand & respect security with the way the world is, but to be detained at US immigration every damn time really really sucks."

"The brighter side is while waiting caught some really nice Pokemons," he said on a lighter note.

According to media reports, another man with the same name is on a US no-fly list of 80,000 people.

Soon after the news spread, U.S. Ambassador to India Rich Verma apologied to the Bollywood big cheese for his harassment.

He tweeted: "Sorry for the trouble at LAX @iamsrk. We are working to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Your work inspires millions, including in the US."

To the tweet SRK, tweeted back saying: "No trouble sir, respect the protocol & not expecting 2 b above it. It’s just a tad inconvenient. Thx for ur concern."

Khan was earlier also detained at US airports in the past.

In 2012, he was detained  at the airport in New York while he was stopped at the Newark airport in 2009.

In 2009, he was reportedly detained as his name came up on a computer alert list.

SRK has shot many films in USA, including My Name is Khan where he famously mouthed the dialogue: "My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist."
