Seven workers injured in furnace blast in Raipur steel plant

Raipur, Sept 24 (IBNS) : At least seven workers were injured, two of them seriously, when a furnace at a steel plant in Chhatisgarh's Raipur exploded on Friday night, reports said.

The incident took place at Bajrang Ispat located under Tilda Police Station area when some workers were working close to the blast furnace, which suddenly exploded.

As a result, some melted substance fell on them causing them to suffer burn injuries.They were immediately rushed to a hospital.

Two of the victims, suffering more than 80 per cent burns and are stated to be in critical condition.

The cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
