Dehradun, June 23 (IBNS): Indo Tibetan border Police (ITBP) mountaineers on Sunday discovered the seven bodies believed to be of missing mountaineers, near an unnamed peak near Nanda Devi East, in Uttarakhand.

Among the seven dead is a woman.

A group of eight mountaineers had gone missing on May 26 at an altitude of approximately 21,000 feet following an avalanche. The ITBP had launched search operation last week from Pithoragarh to search the missing mountaineers in which four were British, two were Americans, and one each from Australia and India.

Search will continue on Monday for the eighth mountaineer.
