Jaipur: In a setback for Mayawati, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)'s six MLAs have joined the Congress in Rajasthan, media reports said.

With the six MLAs switching sides, the Congress increased its tally to 106 in 200-member assembly.

In total, the Congress now has the support of 119 MLAs including one from Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and 12 Independents.

In December last year, Sachin Pilot-led Congress ousted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.

After the polls, Congress veteran Ashok Gehlot was appointed as the Chief Minister.
