SER Headquarters organizes Junior Rail Vikas Shivir

Kolkata, Oct 21 (IBNS): In a unique initiative, a day- long “Junior Shivir” a Zonal Railway Idea Generation Camp as an intermediate activity to reach Rail Vikas Shivir was organized at South Eastern Railway (SER) Headquarters on Friday.

The camp was attended by Divisional Railway Manager of Chakradharpur, Kharagpur, Adra, Ranchi Division and Chief Works Manager, Kharagpur Workshop along with their staff and officers including that of Headquarters.

A K Goel, General Manager, S E Railway initiated the programme while A K Khandelwal,  EDTK(Mc.), Railway Board and Anirban Datta, Addl. General Manager addressed  the gathering.

It was a preparatory and idea generation brain storming session involving Divisional Railway Managers, Chief Works Manager and Officers and staff of Headquarters to prepare and present unique ideas on the theme of Railway’s development which SER would forward to the Ministry of Railways for onward transmission to Rail Vikas Shivir to be held at New Delhi.

Each Division including Headquarters and Workshops produced their firm up ideas from the grass-roots level with meaningful discussion.

Goel said, the objective of the Shivir is to generate innovative and practical ideas from within the organization that would help Indian Railways in achieving commercial and societal objectives and become world class organization.

These ideas would form the basis of the road map for the railways and would be monitored by the Prime Minister himself with direct interaction with the employees through three-Day Video Conference from Nov 18 to 20, 2016.

The railway would short list eight themes to be taken in the three-day event including ways to ensure every train journey as a pleasurable experience for the passengers and making the railways the preferred freight carrier.
