Sensex up by over 500 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex Thursday rallied 563 points at 59,380.88 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty too gained 141 pts at 17,767.05.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 59,484.99 and 59,320.45 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,719.30 and 17,668.20 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices like Power, Realty and Technology stocks gained.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.95 pc and Small Cap by 0.55 pc.

In 30 scrips, 26 advanced while 4 declined.

The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 2.39 pc to Rs 1080, Axis Bank by 2.32 pc to Rs 756, Titan by 2.23 pc to Rs 2486 and Wipro by 2.02 pc to Rs 438.80.

The losers were ITC by 0.50 pc to Rs 309.70, Bharti Airtel by 0.42 pc to Rs 710.95, NTPC by 0.42 pc to Rs 155.05 and Nestle India Ltd by 0.06 pc to Rs 19,753.40.
