Security forces nab five militants, including three of NSCN-K, along Assam-Nagaland border

Guwahati, Oct 24 (IBNS): Security forces on Tuesday apprehended five hardcore militants, including three NSCN-K militants, in upper Assam, along the Nagaland border, officials said.

According to reports, based on intelligence input about the presence of a militant group, the army and Assam Police jointly launched operation in the Sonari area along the Assam-Nagaland border and nabbed three hardcore militants belonging to the banned outfit NSCN-K.

Security personnel recovered three pistols and several rounds of live ammunition from the militants' possession.

The nabbed militants were identified as Anyei Angham, Pongai Methutaho and Yonga Konyak.

Security personnel also apprehended two militants of NSCN-unification from Charaideo area, also along the Nagaland border.

Two pistols and five rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.
