Security forces kill Zakir Musa's successor Hamid Lelhari during encounter in J&K

Srinagar/IBNS: Indian security forces on Tuesday killed Hamid Lelhari, who was the Al-Qaeda Kashmir unit chief and Zakir Musa's successor, during an encounter in Avantipora area of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The other two terrorists killed in the encounter were identified as Naveed Tak and Junaid Bhat.

They were involved in several terror-related activities, police said.

Police said arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

Kashmir Zone Police tweeted: "#Awantipora #encounter update: 03 #killed #terrorists identified as Naveed Tak, Hamid Lone @ Hamid Lelhari and Junaid Bhat involved in several #terrorcrimes. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Case registered.
