Security beefed up in Assam following terror threat

Guwahati, Jan 18 (IBNS): Assam police beefed up security across the state following the intelligence bureau input of probable terror attack ahead of Republic day celebration.

Assam police Special DG Kuladhar Saikia said that, following the IB input we have alerted across the state.

“Specially we look and beefed up security in the hindi speaking people dominated areas,” the top police official said.

Recently, two outfit groups had warned the hindi speaking people to quit Kamatapur, Karbi Longri by March 31.

The newly floated outfit group People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) led by IK Songbijit, Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) had warned and given ultimatum time to the hindi speaking people to quit the concerned areas dominated by the outfit groups.

Assam police Special DG Kuladhar Saikia further said that, we have been also taken adequate security measures in airport, railway station, railway tracks, oil fields for probable militants attack.
