Lucknow, Jan 6 (IBNS):  A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested the personal secretaries of three state ministers on charges of bribery, media reports said.

This comes after the personal secretaries were caught in a video seeking bribes inside the Vidhan Sabha premises during a sting operation by ABP News.

The sting operation was carried out on Wednesday and following its airing, the Yogi Aditynath government ordered for SIT probe.

The SIT was headed by Additional Director General (Lucknow zone) Rajiv Krishnan.

In a bid to ensure a corruption-free system, Adityanth had also called a meeting with the SIT at his residence and suspended all the three secretaries.

The arrested secretaries were working in the offices of Mining, Excise and Prohibition Minister Archana Pandey; Backward Classes Welfare Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar; and Education Minister Sandeep Singh.

Om Prakash Kashyap, the personal secretary of Backward Welfare Minister, was purportedly seen asking for Rs. 40 lakh as bribe for a transfer in the sting video.

The other two were found to be striking illicit deals on mining and books, said reports.
