SC extends stay on Teesta's arrest, case referred to larger bench

| | Mar 19, 2015, at 05:44 pm
New Delhi, Mar 19 (IBNS) In a major relief to social activist Teesta Setalvad and her husband, the Supreme Court on Thursday extended their anticipatory bail in connection with Gulbarg Society fund embezzlement case.

The apex court also referred the case to a larger bench.

The court said the stay on their arrests will continue until the matter is taken up by the larger bench.

The FIR was lodged against Setalvad in 2014 for allegedly misusing Rs. 1.5 crores of donations.

In February this year, the Gujarat High Court had rejected Setalvad's anticipatory bail plea  in connection with the case.
