SC admits appeal challenging Salman Khan's acquittal in hit-and-run case
New Delhi, Jul 5 (IBNS) : In a setback to Salman Khan , the Supreme Court on Tuesday admitted Maharashtra Government’s appeal challenging the Bombay High Court’s acquittal of the actor in the 2002 hit-and-run case, reports said.
The apex court, however, turned down the Maharashtra Government's request to put the case on fast track.
After years of legal battle, the Bombay High Court acquitted Salman Khan in the hit-and-run case in which an SUV , which the police claimed was driven by the actor in a drunken state, ran over and killed one person and injured four others.
