Sarbananda Sonowal meets PM Modi

New Delhi, May 21 (IBNS) Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge) Sarbananda Sonowal, under whose leadership the BJP came to power in Assam, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

"The Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge), Shri Sarbananda Sonowal calls on the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi on May 21, 2016," read a photo caption issued by the PIB.

Ahead of the Assembly polls, Sonowal was named the chief ministerial candidate by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He will take oath as the CM of the state on Tuesday.

The BJP came to power in Assam by removing the Congress rule of 15 years.
