Sarbananda Sonowal appointed as Assam BJP president

New Delhi, Nov 21 (IBNS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday appointed Sarbananda Sonowal as the party's Assam president.

Sarbananda Sonowal is the current union minister of state for sports and youth welfare.

Siddhartha Bhattacharyya has been appointed as the party's national spokesman in charge of the Northeastern region of the country.

The moves were made few months before Assam will elect a new Assembly.
