According to CBI officers, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation issued several trade licence to Saradha Group and Companies, allowing them to begin their business in the city.

"The KMC issued a large number of trade licences to Saradha companies at a same address. We have served the notice for second time to get all details relating to the trade licences, issues by KMC," a senior official of CBI told IBNS.

However, KMC's municipal commissioner Khalil Ahmed could not be reached over phone and no reaction has been received from the KMC authority so far.
