Saradha: CBI files supplementary charge sheet
Kolkata, Feb 18 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) filed a supplementary charge sheet in the Saradha realty case in Kolkata's Alipore Court on Wednesday and the judge accepted it.
The CBI has charged West Bengal Sports and Transport Minister Madan Mitra, former Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose, suspended TMC MP Kunal Ghosh and the legal adviser of Saradha chief Sudipta Sen, Naresh Valodia in the charge sheet under IPC sections 420 (Cheating), 409 (Criminal breach of trust), 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy) and Section 4 and 6 of Prize Chits and Money Circulation (Banning) act 1978.
The CBI has also charged three companies- Strategy Media Ltd. of Kunal Ghosh, Bengal Media Pvt. Ltd. of Sudipta Sen and Sambad Pratidin Group of Srinjoy Bose in the same charge sheet.
Along with the supplementary charge sheet, the CBI has submitted evidences like statements of witnesses, video clips, phone call recordings etc. against the four persons and three companies to the judge of Alipore court.
According to CBI sources, the agency has mentioned in the charge sheet that how those persons promoted Saradha and took protection money from Sudipta Sen.
Srijoy Bose got bail earlier and CBI sources said that he would be arrested again.
The CBI filed its first chargesheet in the Saradha realty case earlier on Oct 22 last year, naming Sudipta Sen, Debjani Mukherjee and Kunal Ghosh.
On other side, the Enforcement Directorate interrogated the secretory of ex-minister and Congress leader Matang Singh, Khyati Sardana on Wednesday in this scam.
After two days of getting conditional bail from Kolkata High Court, Ex-IPS officer and senior TMC leader Rajat Majumder has been released from Alipore Jail finally on Wednesday morning.
