Salman hit and run case: Bombay HC defers actor's appeal till July 13
Mumbai, July 1 (IBNS): The Bombay High Court on Wednesday deferred an appeal filed by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan against the five-year sentence awarded to him in the hit-and-run case till July 13.
This comes after the actor's lawyer sought time to check documents.
The actor's lawyer said that he would need time to check whether translation of any document in vernacular language is required to be done in English.
A Mumbai sessions court on May 6 convicted and sentenced Salman to five years in jail in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case in which a person was crushed under the wheels of the SUV the actor was driving.
The high court had on May 8 stayed the execution of the 5-year sentence awarded to the actor and granted him bail while admitting his appeal.
