Kozhikode, Sept 24 (IBNS): In a strong message send out to Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the country will not forget the sacrifice of 18 soldiers, who were martyred in the Uri attack on Sunday, and asked the neighbouring nation to engage itself in a competition with India to end social evils like unemployment and poverty.

"The sacrifice of 18 of our soldiers will not go in vain," Modi said while addressing a rally here.

"I want to tell Pakistani people, India is ready to fight you. If you have strength, come forward to fight against poverty... Iwant to inform Pakistan that before 1947 even your leaders used to salute this land," he said.

"I call upon people of Pakistan to come forward, fight a war on who defeats unemployment, poverty, illiteracy first. Lets see who wins," Modi said.

He said that Pakistan is exporting terrorism across the world.

"One nation in Asia indulges in terrorism. Pakistan is the only country exporting terrorism across the world...not only India, everywhere," Modi said.

The Prime Minister said though the Pak terrorists have been successful in carrying the Uri attack, Indian troops have frustrated their infiltration bid from across the border at least 17 times in the past few month, killing 110 terrorists.

"Our vigilant and brave soldiers have beaten them back every time...won't forget their sacrifices."

Modi said terrorism is humanity's "enemy" and all countries need to put up a united fight against it.

He said India has been successful in isolating Pakistan, and will intensify "so that you are completely isolated."

"A day will come when people of Pakistan will go against its own government to fight terrorism," he said.

Ridiculing Pakistan for its perennial rants over Kashmir, the PM said it all is being done by a country which has failed to handle situation in PoK,Gilgit, Balochisrtan and Pakhtunistan.

"You’re not able to handle PoK, Gilgit, Balochistan, Pakhtunistan, which are under your control, and you talk about Kashmir," he said.

Kashmir's Uri town was hit by a major terrorist attack on Sunday which left 18 Indian soldiers martyred.
