Sachin Tendulkar thanks soldiers for protecting the country on 87th Air Force day

Hindon: Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday attended the 87th IAF Day function at the Hindon air base in IAF uniform for the celebrations.

Tendulkar is the first Group Captain, conferred with the rank in 2010.

His wife Anjali was also present with him at the event.

Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar expressed gratitude to the Indian soldiers for their service to the nation.

"Wishing everyone a happy Air Force day. I would like to thank all the soldiers for keeping India safe in every situation. After seeing your enthusiasm in implementing Swach Bharat mission initiated by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I wish that India always remains clean, healthy and safe. Jai Hind,” he wrote in Hindi.

The batting great, also tweeted a video showing Wing Commander Abhinav Varthaman leading the flying parade in the MiG-21 Bison.

He also met the Air Force, Army and Navy chiefs and shared a picture of the meeting on his Twitter handle.
