RSS never interferes in BJP's working: Uma Bharti

| | May 18, 2014, at 04:18 pm
New Delhi, May 18 (IBNS): Even as media speculates that Bharatiya Janata Party's ideological patron Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will play a crucial role in the government formation of the NDA, BJP leader Uma Bharti has said the Hindu wing does not interfere in her party's working.
"RSS guides us on our ideological front. It's teachings are in our blood, which has been accepted by the whole country now. But RSS does not interfere in the day-to-day functioning of the BJP," Bharti told NDTV channel.

She said "Hindutva is definitely the soul of India" but  to think that anyone believing in Hindutva can't be a good Prime Minister is wrong.

"The mandate for Narendra Modi is only for development. We have no option but to work for development," she told the channel.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi, BJP-led NDA registered a massive victory in the Lok Sabha polls to wipe out the Congress-led UPA  government at the Centre.

Bharti also registered a win from the Jhansi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.
