RS witness uproar over Gaza situation

New Delhi, July 16 (IBNS) The Rajya Sabha witnessed an uproar over the issue of fighting in Gaza strip as the Indian government refused to to have any discussion on the matter.

The government said it refused to discuss the issue as it might  impact diplomatic ties with both Israel and Palestine.

The opposition wanted to have a discussion on the issue.

External Affairs Minister Suhma Swaraj said: "We have friendly relations with both these nations. Any discussion in this house might effect relations with those countries."

Amid uproar by the opposition, the House was adjourned for the day.

The House was adjourned several times on Wednesday.
