Cuttack, Feb 1 (IBNS): The Odisha High Court on Thursday granted conditional bail to actor-turned-Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Tapas Pal, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in multi-crore Rose Valley chit fund scam, on health grounds, reports said.

Tapas Pal, who has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for last few months, was granted bail by the top court of Odisha on furnishing a personal surety bond of Rs. 1 crore.

The court has also directed the TMC MP from Krishnanagar Lok Sabha constituency to surrender his passport before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Earlier on Dec 30 in 2016, after a marathon interrogation in Kolkata, CBI arrested Tapas Pal in connection with 15000-crore Rose Valley financial scam.
