Road accident in Hapur kills 5

Hapur, Sept 12 (UNI): Five people were killed while one other critically injured in a road accident in the Hafizpur police station area on the National Highway-9 on Thursday.

The accident occurred when a car proceeding towards New Delhi collided with a stationary truck at Hapur bypass near Sona petrol pump at 0600 hrs, leading to on the spot death of five people and injuries to one another.

The deceased were yet to be identified.

Critically injured Rajkumar of Amroha was rushed to the Medical College hospital in Meerut.

Police said that the truck was stationary on the road as its fuel got exhausted and its driver was fetching diesel from a petrol pump in a can.
